I camped here in the very early spring and was stunned by the incredible heat. I wouldn't recommend you come here without good air conditioning so you can jump in the car to cool off!

This park qualifies as a three Roo site

water Water available in camping or recreation areas. Many places without water in the park have potable water at the Ranger Station, but I have listed these areas as having no water as this is an inconvenience that requires planning.

petroPetrogliffs and/or Native American ruins in the area.

I was told by an employee that many senior citizens use the park for convenient camping near the border. The seniors travel in packs it seems, as there were 30 or more motor homes and they all knew each other. Nothing against senior campers- I just have a personal beef with generators. If you want to watch T.V. all night- why not just stay home?

Water is available at the campground rest rooms and at the ranger station. Fill up because you'll need all you can if you plan to stay here long!

There are petrogliffs to be found on the eastern park drive. Stop at the picnic area and walk up to the top of the hill. You will see a large cluster of rocks - and if you look closely you will see rock art. The photo above was taken here (note the spiral on the rock in the foreground). This area is not blocked off from public access so please use care not to touch or allow your children to crawl upon these ancient images.

There are two scenic drives through the park. Both are on unpaved roads but we did the drive without trouble in an old Cadillac with no problem. We chose the drive on the eastern side. There are few people and many critters and plantssaguaro cactusto be seen if you stop and get out of your car.

This park is only a few miles north of the Mexican border!
